Lakes at Rothwell Park

A beautiful lake, approximately 30 acres in size, Rothwell Lake offers boating and fishing opportunities for the whole family. In addition to some great fishing spots around the lake, there is a boat launch to put in your own fishing boat. We also offer paddleboat rentals, so that you can enjoy a leisurely tour around the lake. Rothwell Lake also features a wheelchair-accessible fishing and observation dock for you to enjoy. Whether you have come to fish, paddle around, watch the geese and ducks, or just enjoy the scenery, Rothwell Lake is the perfect spot!
Originally the City of Moberly’s water supply (hence the name), 20-acre Waterworks Lake still offers a refreshing recreational opportunity. A favorite of fisherman and bird-watchers alike, Waterworks Lake is a perfect combination of scenery and relaxation. Waterworks Lake features a fishing platform and a boat launch, so you can either paddle around in leisure, or try to bring in “the big one.” Either way, this lake will fit your needs!
| • | Please respect our lakes and Rothwell Park. Please do not litter. Trash receptacles are provided throughout the park for your convenience. |
| • | For public health reasons, there is absolutely NO swimming in either lake, or in Deer Pond. This includes dogs or other pets swimming in the lake. |
| • | For safety reasons, ice skating is not allowed. |
Fishing and Boating Guidelines:
| • | Boats may be used year-round on both lakes for fishing and wildlife-viewing purposes only. While there is no horsepower restriction on either lake, there is a no-wake regulation in effect at all times. |
| • | Missouri Department of Conservation wildlife codes must be followed regarding number and size of fish. |
| • | There is no City of Moberly fishing permit, but Missouri State boating and fishing licenses are required. |
| • | No jugs or troutlines are permitted. |
