Moberly Parks and Recreation has numerous specialty programs, classes and sports leagues for youth.  To register for activities, please click on any link and you will be taken to our registration page.  For more information, contact (660) 269-8705 ext 2040.

National Youth Sports Coaches Association
All NEW coaches must complete the National Alliance for Youth Sports Coaches training class. Classes will be held at the Auditorium on April 6th, April 23rd and May 9th. The NYSCA training is also available online at www.nays.org. For more information contact Abbey at 269-8705 ext 2012 or ahalley@cityofmoberly.com.
Returning coaches can turn in their renewal forms or return the Code of Ethics Pledge.


What is Start Smart Sports?
The Start Smart Sports Program is an introductory sports program for kids ages 3-5 years of age and their parents. This program prepares children for organized sports in a fun and non-threatening environment, and teaches parents how to properly nurture their child’s sports development.

Start Smart Baseball

This program will be offered from March 22nd-April 26th at the Municipal Auditorium. Kids will learn basic baseball skills like batting, catching, and throwing.


Co-ed and Girl’s Recreational Leagues

Softball playerRagball League is for boys and girls ages 4-6 years of age. This league is designed to introduce young players to the ballgame setting and develop skills. Registration deadline is April 20th and games will be played during June and July at the Howard Hils Athletic Complex.

Girls Pitching Machine (8 & Under) League is designed for girls to continue learning the fundamentals of softball with the assistance of a pitching machine. Registration deadline is April 20th and games will be played during June and July at the Howard Hils Athletic Complex.

Girls Live Pitch (10 & Under) League is designed for girls to get their first experience with live pitch softball. Registration deadline is April 20th and games will be played during June and July at the Howard Hils Athletic Complex.

Girls Live Pitch (12 & Under) League is designed for girls to improve their softball skills in our non-competitive league. Registration deadline is April 20th.

Girl’s Competitive Leagues
14U, 16U, and 18U Girls ASA Softball League -Team roster and league fees due by April 8th.  Leagues will use NFHS High School Softball Rules.
Liability waiver must be turned in with team roster.

Optimist League Baseball
You can now register for Optimist Leagues Online! Click on the "Register Online" button a the top or bottom of this page.
The Optimist Pee-Wee leagues are open to area boys and girls. Contact Merrill Finley at 263-5008 or visit the Optimist website.
Optimist T-ball League is offered for children grades Kindergarten & 1st. Registration deadline is April 1st and games will be played during June and July at the Howard Hils Athletic Complex. Rules

Moberly Midget League
Moberly Midget League provides competitive baseball for area teams in the following divisions: Coach Pitch (8U), Rookie League (10U), American League (12U), & National League (14U). Registration deadline is March 23rd. No registrations will be accepted after March 30th (Late Fee $5). Limited scholarships available. Want to sharpen your tennis skills this summer? Classes are available for youth on Tuesdays/Thursdays in June and July. Beginner classes will utilize QuickStart Tennis equipment from the USTA.
