COVID-19 / Re-opening

Moberly Parks and Recreation is making every effort to balance the heightened need for recreational opportunities with the public health and public safety realities that COVID-19 presents. Staff is engaging in internal and external meetings including conference calls with parks and recreation professionals, government and legal representatives, and public health professionals to develop a balanced and safe plan for re-opening amenities and returning to a modified normal.

The selection of a phase for reopening is determined based on the totality of the circumstances and facts before us: Government mandates, industry best practices, the nature of each activity, ability to social distance, ability to monitor social distancing, number of people, density of people, ability to sanitize between usage, ability to obtain and provide PPE and cleaning supplies, and more. Often, the situation with each amenity is more complicated than it appears at face value. We are always happy to discuss and explain the situation with anyone who has questions. Feel free to call 660-269-7613.

The listing below shows the phases of re-opening as well as the related dates based on conditions from the local to global level as well as relevant Government mandates and best practices. Because the research and knowledge of COVID-19 is preliminary and evolving as are health conditions from the local level to the global level, these phases, dates, mandates, and best practices are subject to change. Check back often for the latest information both here and on our Facebook page.

Further, everyone’s individual circumstances vary widely. Based on individual health, availability of PPE and sanitizing products, how far one may be traveling to use amenities, and other factor’s, every individual and family must make and are responsible for their own individual choices in consultation with their doctor and CDC Guidelines. Individuals and families are welcome to go above and beyond the standards and dates set below.

  1. Phase 1
  2. Phase 1.5
  3. Phase 2
  4. Phase 3
  5. Phase 4
