Pandemic Solutions in Rothwell Park
The cabin above was constructed near Groeber Field as a quarantine cabin during a previous pandemic. The cabin was later donated to the Campfire Girls. Great detail on quarantine houses in Rothwell Park and other locations in Moberly for past pandemics can be found in the Yesteryear publication by Craig Asbury, local historian.
Rothwell Park was a key fixture in Moberly's history not just for recreation, but for public health. In each pandemic, it played an important part from quarantine locations in past pandemics to drive-through vaccination clinics (Round 1 on January 19th/February 24th and Round 2 on March 10th/March 31st) during the Covid-19 pandemic.
