In order to create a safer crossing at Coates Street, Norfolk Southern Railroad will add a crossing arm to the westbound lane which will keep drivers from stopping between the two sets of tracks. Because of the new equipment location, Moulton St. will become a one-way street going north from Coates to Farror. From Farror, the street will return to two-way traffic. During the project, the City will construct new sidewalks across Coates and the Railroad will install guardrails. Once construction is completed, the City will stripe angled parking along the half of Moulton that was the southbound lane of traffic, providing more parking in the vicinity of the area retail. The project is estimated to last until early December.
